As an anti-war activist, it is only fitting that Bertrand Russell wrote a book that tries to explain what are the reasons for any fighting between humans, not only war. It is even more important to notice that the book was written in 1916, during World War 1 and according to Wikipedia it was released in 1917 in response to devastations of WWI.

The title of this book is very appropriate. „Think: A Compelling Introduction to Philosophy“ is a book for people who are at least on some level aware that there are great mysteries and big questions about various topics and wish to move at least a bit beyond that awareness. If you have a desire to know, this is a book for you.

Continuing with the introductions to the arguments for the existence of God, we'll now look at one of the most common arguments for God – the basic idea that the possibility of eternal bliss of paradise as a reward for belief or the possibility of terrors that can result as a consequence of non-belief are good reasons to believe. In essence, the average person's version of the argument says that we should believe, just in case there is a God. It's just safer.

Let's talk about the teleological argument or the so-called argument from design. The reason we're only scratching the surface now is that we want to have an overview at various arguments for the existence of God so we know what are the basic forms and basic types of objections. Then we'll go even deeper into each one in the future.

This post is about scratching the surface of cosmological arguments for the existence of God. As this is a very complex area and there are many disagreements and debates even between brilliant thinkers and professional philosophers, I cannot stress enough that this post is mostly about my personal journey of trying to begin to understand these issues and arguments.

There are books and principles that lay out the basic ideas which might naturally flow from being free of dogma and help us find morality in the secular world.

Lately, I feel that a lot of people belong to religions, political parties or other ideologies simply because they do not know who they are. They do not know what they believe in and even when they do know, they cannot say why. Myself, I want to think that I have a good grasp of who I am, what I feel and WHY do I feel something. So, this series of posts is designed to explore this. I will tell you who I am in hopes of you being inspired to search for yourself in a similar fashion. So, let's get to it.
